My lessons tend to be very problem-based - I will go through worked examples together with the student, which increase in complexity as the student builds confidence. I will also mark in detail any work submitted by the student (e.g. test papers or schoolwork) to pinpoint gaps in understanding. My lesson structure is flexible to the student's needs - if there is a particular topic which needs refining then I could spend an entire lesson going over it in detail, or closer to exam season I could use the lesson as an opportunity for revision and honing exam technique. For admissions, the lesson is likely to involve more explanation (the PAT assumes some knowledge which is outside the scope of many A-level courses), as well as mock interviews and interview advice.
