I enjoy employing a casual, humorous and light-hearted approach in order to acclimatise my students and get to know them better. All good relationships thrive off of mutual interest and understanding, and so which music or sports my students enjoy serve as a great glue or gel for establishing this foundation.

From my own experience, children thrive more in a more relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, as opposed to the rigour and formality of that which conventional education employs. Being able to work on a purely one-to-one basis allows for the students shortcomings to be highlighted and improved upon, and their strengths to be more so easily noticed and singled out for praise. All that I ask from my students is an upbeat attitude and the will to work hard! With this positive mindset at the forefront of my approach I've watched struggling linguists develop into literary experts, quiet children become confident and outgoing individuals, and those who struggle with expression and "wording" finding a greater degree of fluency in their native tongue. Being a child can be a tricky and confusing time to navigate, and that's without the expectation of work and examinations! Sometimes all they need is a friendly tutor to give them the push to see themselves in the light they deserve to be seen in.

I specialise in AQA GCSE, from Creative Writing to Comprehension, and Language Techniques to Literary Devices. Having taught more than 1700 lessons, it would be my utmost pleasure to take you to the peak of the mountain, that we may gaze on the distant view below.
