About me

My lessons are calm, structured, and patient, with a strong focus on finding the approach that genuinely works for each student. I begin by getting a sense of how you learn—whether you prefer talking through ideas, visual explanations, step-by-step breakdowns, or practising with real exam questions. From there, I tailor the format so the session feels natural, manageable, and genuinely useful.

During lessons, I combine clear explanation with guided practice. I model how to tackle an essay, an exam question, or a tricky piece of content, and then support you as you try the skill yourself. We revisit challenging areas without any pressure, and I always encourage questions. My aim is to create an environment where mistakes are part of the process, not something to feel anxious about.

I draw on the techniques that helped me through my own studies—essay planning frameworks, revision strategies, analytical tools, and ways of breaking down large tasks into smaller steps. I’ve also worked with students who struggled with traditional methods, so I bring a range of alternative approaches, from visual mapping and structured templates to verbal reasoning and memory aids.

Above all, I want lessons to feel collaborative and confidence-building. Together, we find the strategies that fit your thinking style, so you develop skills that not only improve grades but also make future assignments and exams far less stressful, more organised, and genuinely understandable, giving you long-term tools you can rely on independently across subjects.
