i try to make the lesson as enjoyable as possible, either using specific topics, learning idioms, and help to improve enunciation. I am very flexible as to lesson content, each person is unique and different, there is simply no 'one technique' that does all. Once we had a lesson, i am sure i can work out lesson format that will be good for you.
