Lessons for all my students are personally tailored to each of their individual needs. It all depends on age and stage.
For younger students I find that using flash cards, colours, songs and basic literature have accomplished the best results.
As for older students I have dived into the wonderful world of literature to create a passion for language. I feel this gives everything you are learning a purpose and path.

I use media as a tool for homework as most people tend to want to watch something or listen to audio , rather than geriatric questions and answers or reading long texts at night etc. It definitely brings around a stronger level of response and outcome for homework. All I ask is that students take a few notes.

I then discuss this media with students at our next lesson. It is proven method that the more you are surrounded by or listen to a language the faster you will develop an understanding for it.
All grammar and punctuation will be covered in lessons.
I do use textbooks but they are all online as well as hard copy, so students can access them in lessons, online or at home without an issue. I can also print pages for students with no internet access.
Bringing different methods of learning from reading, writing, talking and pronunciation, alongside spelling , grammar and punctuation I try to cover everything.
In the past students with a basic understanding of English have advanced very well with 1-2hour lessons per week for 6 weeks.
