My lessons are calm, structured, and fully tailored to each child’s individual needs and learning style. I begin by getting to know the learner’s current abilities, strengths, and areas for development, then create personalised sessions that support steady, achievable progress. I specialise in breaking learning down into small, manageable steps so that children do not feel overwhelmed and can build confidence as they go.
Lessons typically follow a clear routine, including a short recap of previous learning, focused teaching of a key skill (such as phonics, reading comprehension, or spelling), guided practice, and then independent application in an engaging and supportive way. I use multi-sensory approaches, visual prompts, and interactive activities to keep learners motivated and involved.
My experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant means I am confident supporting a wide range of needs, including dyslexia, autism, and speech and language difficulties. I place a strong focus on encouragement, patience, and celebrating progress, no matter how small, to help learners grow in confidence and develop a positive attitude towards English and reading.
