My approach to tutoring is based on something that has always worked well for me: practice. Since I was young, my parents enrolled me in tutoring, and I found that working through practice questions, past papers, and exam-style questions was the most effective way to build confidence and improve my understanding.
Before each lesson, students can let me know which topics they would like to focus on. I will prepare tailored practice questions for us to work through together. Students will have the opportunity to attempt the questions independently, and if they find anything challenging, I will patiently explain the underlying concepts, reteach them in a way that suits their learning style, and guide them step by step until they feel confident completing similar questions on their own- I may also set some homework to further increase understanding.
I am a patient, supportive, and encouraging tutor who believes every student can succeed with the right guidance. I have previously tutored my friend's younger brother, helping him prepare for the 11+, and he went on to pass with excellent results and gain admission to a highly competitive private school.
My goal is to help every student not only improve their grades but also develop confidence and enjoy learning. Maths is one of my favourite subjects- my younger self would disagree, but I have found that the more I started to enjoy it, the more I improved. So, I hope I can spread my love for maths to other students, just like my maths current maths teacher has for me.
