Hi, I'm Benji!

I'm a UCL student offering friendly, one-to-one tuition in Maths and 11+ preparation.

I'm currently entering my 3rd year at university. I achieved A*A*A at A Level, including 94% in A Level Mathematics and an A* in Economics and I went to a grammar school for secondary school.

I've taught 11+, GCSE Maths and A Level Maths, and I really enjoy helping students understand things that they might have previously found difficult.

I don't like using the exact same approach with every student. Everyone has different strengths, weaknesses and levels of knowledge, so I try to work out what each student needs help with and adapt the lesson around that. If there is a topic they are struggling with, we'll spend time working through it properly and build it up step by step rather than just moving on.

I also like to keep lessons active. I put a lot of emphasis on doing questions and active recall rather than just reading notes or passively going over content. I find that students understand and remember things much better when they have to actually use what they've learnt.

For exam preparation, I also focus on exam technique, including how to approach different types of questions, manage time and avoid common mistakes.

I'm enthusiastic and patient, and I want students to feel comfortable asking questions when they don't understand something. My main aim is to help students become more confident while steadily improving the areas they find hardest.
