Ben Phillips

I am a qualified TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) tutor and hold a degree in English and Creative Writing. I’m also currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Education. I have been privately tutoring for over two years, working with learners of all ages and levels from complete beginners to advanced speakers. I would like to teach abroad someday, and would love to move to Japan.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, goals, and learning style. Whether you’re preparing for an important exam like IELTS, or just want to improve your everyday English for travel, work, or conversation, I will create engaging and practical lessons to help you succeed. I focus on the four essential language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing, while also building your confidence and expanding your vocabulary.

Lessons are interactive, student-led, and always encouraging. We can use articles, videos, games, real-life situations, and mock conversations to make learning feel natural and enjoyable. I am patient, understanding, and flexible. Everyone learns differently; I’m here to support you in every way I can.

In addition to language skills, I also help students improve pronunciation, grammar, and cultural understanding, so they can communicate confidently in real-world settings. Whether you need structured lessons or more casual conversation practice, I will adapt to suit your preferences.
