I would describe myself as a patient, enthusiastic, and highly analytical tutor who enjoys helping students build both confidence and understanding in mathematics. My academic background in Mathematical Physics at the University of Edinburgh, together with my research experience and current tutoring work, has given me a deep understanding of mathematics as well as the ability to explain difficult ideas clearly and intuitively.
In lessons, I aim to create a supportive and engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through problems step-by-step. I focus not only on improving exam performance, but also on helping students genuinely understand the reasoning behind mathematical methods so they can approach unfamiliar problems with confidence.
My lessons are primarily aimed at students studying GCSE, A-Level, Advanced Higher, and Further Mathematics, particularly those looking to strengthen their problem-solving ability, prepare for exams, or gain confidence in challenging topics such as calculus, mechanics, and algebra. I am also happy to support students preparing for university mathematics or physics courses.
