Béa Frant

As a Doctoral Researcher, I have a thorough understanding of the Architecture University structure. The past 7 years spent within the academic field have nurtured a sense of responsibility and hope in the newcomers that I helped throughout. I have experience teaching at UCL for both university students and 15-18 year-olds in the Summer School Programme. In my current position I teach workshops to students ranging from first year of Bachelor’s to Master’s. My training to become an architect involved a comprehensive approach to digital media, in both CAD and animation, but also traditional drawing skills such as descriptive geometry; I can appreciate the level needed to create an impressive portfolio. I’m highly motivated to help others develop the same curiosity in the discipline - it’s how to succeed in this field.

My lesson strategy could either follow:

Plan A, which guides students interested in applying to study Architecture in university, starting with architectural history and a presentation of styles and techniques, leading up to creating your own use of knowledge taught within the portfolio required for your studies. This plan highly benefits from my recent and extensive experience in the academic field at what has been ranked as the top school in the world.

Plan B: A more relaxed introduction to architecture as a field which might become of interest later, or has always been something you wanted to gain a better understanding of. This could be aimed either towards younger students or adults looking to expand their artistic education.
