Bally Atwal

I am an experienced and enthusiastic teacher with over six years of experience teaching Mathematics and Business across secondary school and sixth-form settings. I am passionate about helping students understand difficult topics, build confidence and, most importantly, enjoy learning.

I believe that being a good tutor is about much more than simply knowing the subject. Every student learns differently, and I take a patient, calm and encouraging approach to make sure students feel comfortable and supported throughout their sessions. There is never any pressure to get something right immediately — I encourage students to ask questions, make mistakes and take the time they need to develop their understanding.

My teaching experience has given me the opportunity to work with students of a wide range of abilities and learning needs. I am particularly passionate about helping students who may lack confidence in Mathematics or feel that they are simply "not a maths person". By breaking topics down into manageable steps and explaining concepts in different ways, I aim to make learning clearer and more enjoyable.

I also like to make lessons engaging and relevant, using real-life examples wherever possible so students can understand how what they are learning applies beyond the classroom. Whether the aim is to improve understanding, prepare for exams, catch up on missed work or simply become more confident, I will tailor sessions around the individual student and their goals.

Most importantly, I want students to leave each session feeling that they have achieved something. I celebrate progress, however small, and work at a pace that allows students to develop genuine confidence rather than simply memorising answers.
