Azhar Jama

I graduated in English Language Teaching in Ankara, Turkey last July. My course spanned over four years where I learned various teaching styles and methods. Since completing my degree, I have been working at a tuition centre where I offer my services on Sundays.

At the beginning of February this year, I signed up with an agency to work as a teaching assistant in primary schools across London. I have experience in both SEN and mainstream schools. My role typically requires I perform general teaching assistant duties, such as printing off worksheets, decorating the classroom and sticking in students’ work, or 1:1 assistance with a particular student.

As a tutor, I generally focus on identifying key areas of improvement. I typically work with students from year 2 to year 8, though I sometimes offer assistance to year 9. After identifying these areas, we start from the bottom up, making sure everything is covered and all areas of concern are covered.
