Maths needs to be practiced. If you have a tablet or similar device that you can draw on, I will use a shared OneNote to give questions, set homework and see your working out. If you do not have such a device, I will ask you to send pictures to me of your work that you have done on paper to ensure what you have done is correct. I find that explaining topics and content using examples and then once understood, going into questions of increasing difficulty helps students remember the same methods in the pressured environment of an exam. I have had success of teaching a student in Y10, going from a 5 to a 9 in only a term. I also have a wealth of resources available, from past papers to specific question banks. Whatever topic that you might find difficult I have taught and will be able to help you become better at. As a student I know how hard it is balancing homework from extra tutoring and school, and this homework is only effective if you are able to do it without feeling obliged to do it. Its of benefit to you to complete extra past papers and questions, but only of benefit if you are doing it properly. In the lessons, I will aim to identify any misconceptions and mistakes within your work, and explain it effectively. My lessons are the time for you to develop and learn new skills ; you will never have to waste an hour in my lesson completing a past paper, as it would not be an efficient use of of your time and money.
