I’ve been tutoring GCSE and A-Level students for a few years now, and several students have gone on to achieve top grades in exams. The main thing is making sure you understand how to solve problems, but also get the reasoning behind them so you can apply the same methods to other exam questions you see. I try and keep lessons engaging by focussing on whatever you want to cover and linking things to real world applications or playing small games to check understanding. That way, you’re still learning and making progress towards your goals, but hopefully the lessons don’t feel like a bore!

Before your first lesson I’ll ask you what topics you’d like help with. Then we can create a plan to tackle those together and make sure you’re confident in them.

Each lesson will focus on one key area you need help with and I’ll tailor each lesson to whatever works for you to make sure you’re getting the most out of the sessions. We’ll normally start with a quick knowledge check to see what you already know, then work through a few examples together so you understand the method. I’ll highlight any key tips or methods for working through the problems so next time you see something like it you can work through it independently! Sometimes I save a few harder questions for the end of the lesson so you feel fully secure with a topic before moving on.
