I am a qualified female Secondary Science teacher (PGCE with QTS). I have over seven years of experience planning, delivering, and assessing Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. I have taught from KS3 up to A-Level (Biology). Throughout my career in UK schools and online spaces, I have successfully helped learners of all abilities close knowledge gaps, boost their academic confidence, and achieve their full potential in public examinations. My teaching methods are deeply rooted in cognitive science. I use accessible, chunked learning to break down complex scientific concepts into manageable, digestible pieces. To ensure these concepts stick, I embed regular retrieval practice into my sessions, supporting long-term memory retention and the practical application of knowledge.

A key focus of my online tutoring is the mastery of exam techniques. I explicitly teach students how to decode tricky command words, avoid common pitfalls where most marks are lost, and structure the high-scoring responses that examiners look for. Navigating mark schemes can be daunting, so we pick them apart them together to build true exam technique. Teaching online allows me to create a highly interactive, supportive, and focused environment tailored to each student's unique pace. I use digital tools to bring abstract science topics to life, ensuring lessons are engaging and highly effective.
