Awen Summers

I’m a 22-year-old English graduate from University College, with a strong academic background in both literature and language, and a passion for helping students grow in confidence and ability. I’m TEFL-certified and spent six months teaching English in rural Thailand, where I gained valuable, hands-on experience working with students aged 12–15. During this time, I taught a full range of skills, including grammar, reading, writing, listening, speaking, and pronunciation, giving me a well-rounded and adaptable teaching approach.

I’m confident teaching a wide age range, from 4 to 18, covering primary, secondary, GCSE, and A-level English. Whether you’re looking to strengthen core skills, prepare for exams, or improve overall fluency, I tailor each lesson to suit individual goals and learning styles.

My teaching style is supportive, flexible, and engaging. I use a variety of methods, including worksheets, interactive verbal exercises, PowerPoint presentations, and mock exams to build both understanding and confidence. I’m always happy to adapt lessons based on what works best for you or your child.

I can teach English as a native language or as a foreign language, and I aim to create a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace.
I also place a strong emphasis on building long-term skills rather than just short-term exam success, helping students develop independent thinking and effective study habits. My goal is to make English enjoyable and accessible, while steadily improving accuracy, expression, and confidence in both spoken and written communication over time.
