Awajioniro Emmanuel

My name is Awajioniro Emmanuel. I enjoy seeing the Einstein moment in the facial expression of my students when they actually understand a mathematical concept or solve a maths problem. I am a teacher with almost 10 years of teaching mathematics at various secondary school levels and across different curricula. I teach maths across all year groups and also Additional Maths. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Statistics (2013), a PGDE (2015) and various certifications to teach Maths/Additional Maths with respect to the IGCSE/GCSE curriculum. I have had experience tutoring and preparing students for different exams both online and in person. The online teaching experience is via google meet or zoom as the need arises. I have also tutored students preparing for A level school and also tutored students Pure Mathematics in both Year 12 and 13 in A Level. My teaching style is tailored towards Barack Rosenshine's ten Principle of Instruction with a keen interest on the retrieval practice approach before and during the learning. I have come to understand that teaching is beyond passing knowledge but more about the manner with which the knowledge is passed to ensure that no student is left out in the learning. Preparing lessons and delivering the lessons requires lots of organisational practice. During the planning process, I look out to cater to different learners and how they learn while also taking into cognizance the level of maths knowledge the students must have had and try as much as possible to fill the learning gaps they must have had. During the teaching and learning process, a lot of patience is required so as to try as much as possible to cater for the weak learners.
