Augusta Oloke

My name is August Oloke. I am a qualified teacher (QTLS) and a registered corporate tutor. With my background in mathematics education, extensive classroom experience, and commitment to building confidence and resilience in learners, I am confident in my ability to contribute meaningfully to the maths lessons.

In my teaching practice, I have consistently worked with diverse groups of learners, including GCSE resit students and those with additional learning needs. My research into mathematics anxiety in Further Education (MA Education) has given me a deep understanding of the emotional and psychological barriers that many learners face when engaging with mathematics. Consequently, I prioritise creating safe, supportive, and interactive learning environments that promote participation and reduce anxiety.

I am dedicated to supporting students’ individual progress through innovative teaching and learning methods, ensuring lessons are both accessible and engaging. My emphasis on fostering positive teacher–student relationships has proven essential in helping learners rebuild confidence in mathematics, particularly those who have faced repeated difficulties in the subject.

I share this vision and am eager to apply my skills to support both student achievement and holistic growth.
