As an individual who initially struggled to find her learning style, I understand how frustrating it can be for students who want to succeed but feel stuck when it comes to studying and revision. This feeling can be heightened especially during A-Levels as students are suddenly expected to be a lot more independent. I have worked with people in the same position and helped them to find methods and tactics that allowed them to effectively and efficiently revise, whether the methods required my direct help after they were identified or not. For more independent students who may just desire some guidance or just the presence of someone else to motivate their study sessions I am more than happy to act more as a collaborator than an instructor. For students who prefer more structured sessions I am equally happy to create structured sessions and resources best suited to their studying style.
I hope to cultivate a comfortable and nurturing environment that helps students to not just achieve the grades they're aiming for but also increase their passion for the subject. A-Levels are a challenging time- I've been there- but finding some enjoyment can make a huge difference in your attitude and your grade. For those wishing to further their Psychology education at university, as an undergraduate Psychology student I can also offer advice on the application journey as well as how their current psychology studies will be relevant at university level.
