The first lesson will be based around you and getting to know which parts of your curriculum you struggle with. Further lessons will then be structured around your needs and parts you think you need the most help with. A normal lesson will typically include a few retrieval questions at the beginning before we learn new concepts or build upon previous knowledge. The retrieval questions could also be replaced by a 5 minute task of retrivial via quick fire questions or braindumping everything about one topic onto a paper. Once every few lessons we will have exam practice and I will give time to prepare before hand. This is to enhance your ability to answer exam questions in the real gcse exam. I will give you the opportunity to decide what specific topic you want to study because it will enhance your confidence. Based off the exam practice, I will continue tailoring lessons around your weak points in the exam to ensure you don't lose marks if those topics appear in the real exam. Some lessons will be less structured and more independent which you will lead for example I may ask you to decide what kind of revision source you would like to create based on one topic. Approaching the exams I will encourage you to use those revision resources and support you via covering any topics you feel unsure about or would like to understand better. In terms of experience, I have achieved a grade 7 in the English gcse myself and so I believe I can help you get the push you need to achieve the best possible grade.
