I have studied physics for around 8 years now. I did it all the way through secondary and am now almost halfway through my Theoretical Physics degree. When approaching a problem in my classes, I like to sit and think about the problem physically instead of just diving into equations straight away. I like to encourage my students to sit with the problem and first develop an intuitive image in their head of what is actually happening and what the problem is asking them find 'physically'. I will also take a more unconventional approach to studying. While past papers are useful in building connection in your brain and helping to teach the students how to apply what they learn, I think a bit part of studying a subject is also, just simply reading and solidifying ones understanding of theory. By comprehending the theory of what we are learning, my students will have no issues confidently facing unseen questions by considering the underlying physics involved and moulding the problem in front of them into something that can be solved. The pace of my lessons will depend on the pace of each individual student. I will not rush any student but do not plan on wasting time on topics which the student has a strong grasp on. My aim in the lessons are to target a students critical areas first and then fine-tune any areas I feel could need some help. While my goal is to ultimately prepare my students for their examinations and give them the best chances possible to achieve their academic goals, I also hope to inspire and encourage critical thinking and problem solving development in my students.
