I am enthusiastic, patient, and approachable, with a genuine passion for maths that I have developed gradually over time. Having once found the subject difficult myself, I understand how challenging it can feel for many students when concepts don’t immediately make sense right away. This allows me to relate to learners, reassure them, and help build their confidence step by step through consistent support and guidance.
As a new tutor, my focus is on creating lessons that are supportive, engaging, and carefully tailored to each student’s individual needs. For primary learners, I aim to make maths enjoyable through clear explanations, interactive activities, and plenty of encouragement. For GCSE students, I structure lessons around strengthening their understanding of key topics, breaking down past exam questions, and practicing problem-solving skills in a way that develops both accuracy and long-term confidence under exam conditions.
Each session will begin with a short recap to check understanding, followed by guided practice on a chosen topic. I will then set problems for the student to attempt independently, offering support as needed, before finishing with a short review to highlight progress and address any remaining questions effectively.
My teaching style is calm, patient, and adaptable. I encourage students to ask questions freely and I explain concepts in different ways until they feel fully clear and confident. My goal is not just to help students improve their grades, but also to help them see that maths can be manageable—and even enjoyable—when approached with the right support.
