I have tutored National 5 and Higher Maths in the past and enjoyed my time tutoring a lot. I attained an A grade in National 5, Higher and AH Maths and currently study the subject at the University of Edinburgh. I have a strong interest in the discipline and am very familiar with the topics within these courses.

My style of teaching is to encounter areas of difficulty that students are having and work specifically on those areas by going over in-depth explanations, worked examples, exam-style questions and encouraging students to attempt questions completely by themselves. I believe the freedom to decide what to work on is important in tutoring as it gives the student the autonomy to decide what they feel they need to improve upon. I am comfortable teaching over Zoom and other video conferencing software, but am also open to in-person teaching.

If a student is uncomfortable or nervous about one-to-one contact, I am happy to provide lengthy worksheets and notes that they can work through in their own time. I understand that maths is a subject that can become scary and students can feel alienated if they just don't get it. I am an empathetic and patient person who will be more than happy to go over the same question ten times until it begins to make sense. I hope to be able to provide useful but also fun maths lessons, as school can make the subject become bland and abstract quite quickly. Maths is for everyone!
