During GCSE season, I assisted some of my classmates in a variety of topics, mostly in French, biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics, at both higher and foundation level (for the sciences I helped with both triple and combined). I like to be able to interact and communicate with the people I help, virtually and physically. when I was doing sessions over video calls, I used questions online-including past paper questions- and work throughs of different formats of questions. I sometimes use videos where appropriate if I think it would help more than me talking about it. when I did the sessions, I would ask them what they want to focus on or what they were struggling with understanding, I'd then go over and explanation of how the topic we selected together works and go over a couple questions together before getting them to do some of varying difficulties while I worked on something else. if they were struggling, I would then break down the question into smaller parts that they could then understand better. normally in a couple hours we could go through 4 or 5 topics depending on the difficulty of it. I mainly focus on AQA specification where needed for my subjects that I do as I have little understanding of the other specifications requirements. the primary subjects I do are sciences (triple and combined), maths (further and standard) French and on the odd occasion, English literature and language, I will say that for English language I focus on the exudes specification and not AQA like the others.
