I have taught a wide range of classes for over 28 years, catering to all ages and levels. I was an English teacher in Japan for 9 years, had babies and mum's classes up to middle school students. In China, the UK, I had started teaching Japanese at private and state schools for 8 years as well as adult classes. For the last 10 years, I have taught Japanese students IB courses in Switzerland, for junior to senior students.
If you are looking for a Japanese tutor for your Japanese exam, like IB, GCSE, and A-level - I am more than happy to help you! I also offer all levels of Japanese, focusing on oral communication.

I use the Google platform as well as many online tools like Seasaw, Jamboard, Kahoot, Padlet and Wakelet for online lessons and in-person. For IB courses, I use the Asahi newspaper for reading.
For Biginner's Japanese class, I use a lot of visual tools like Google Slides, videos as well as games and songs for fun and easy memorization. I love watching Japanese anime. (My favourite is Demon Slayer) I am happy to use your favourite anime characters in lessons. I also love Japanese cooking, so we can study Japanese food and culture.

Asami is passionate for teaching Japanese and very professional in terms of her methodology. My daughter Megan had beneficiate a lot from the lessons that she had during the schooling year 2024/25 in Seychelles. Cooking and Japanese culture was also part of their conversations. Megan is now looking forward to continue her studies in Culinary arts in Japan in 2026/27.

I’ve been taking lessons with Asami for a few months now, and it has been an amazing experience. Their teaching style is clear, patient, and encouraging, which makes learning Japanese fun. She explains grammar in a way that’s easy to understand, provide practical examples, and always tailor the lessons to my needs. I especially appreciate how supportive she is, I feels comfortable to make mistakes and learn from them without pressure. I highly recommend Asami to anyone looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Japanese tutor!
