Hello! I am a recent Oxford graduate in Classics and am passionate about motivating and supporting students to achieve their academic goals.
During A Levels, my History and Religious Studies' essays and revision material were requested by the teachers for the class to use due to their quality. Thus, this experience has given me confidence in my ability to create high-quality materials and deliver lessons that genuinely support student learning.
I have always had a strong passion for education and sharing knowledge. While in sixth form, I formed my own History tutoring class for GCSE students and at university, I continued to support and promote higher education by working as a Student Ambassador:
I gave presentations regarding Oxbridge Applications.
I helped with essay writing skills.
I performed and assessed Mock interviews.
As everyone learns differently, each lesson will be adapted to suit the individual student's needs and maximise both learning and value. I believe it's always best to start with the basics and build from there, as a solid foundation leads to stronger outcomes.
Whether a student needs more time to fully grasp and develop the fundamentals before progressing, or already has a strong understanding of the basics and is ready to move on to more advanced topics, I'm here to help!
Typical Lesson Structure:
While every lesson is tailored to the student, a typical session may include:
5-minute recap of the previous lesson to check understanding and identify areas that may need further review.
Introduction to the new topic.
Identifying strengths and targeting knowledge gaps.
5-minute open discussion where the student can raise any questions regarding the lesson and what they would like to focus on next.
Materials and Resources:
I can provide a range of resources for both lessons and optional homework, including:
Essay structures and examples
Flashcards
Mind maps
Timelines
Revision summaries
All materials are created by myself and are not AI-generated!
Lesson Length:
I am flexible with the duration of the lesson. Some students prefer 1 hour sessions, while others find 1.5 to 2 hours more productive.
