4 Phases - Tried & Tested:

Phase 1 - Consultation: Free 20-30 minutes conversation with student before anything begins - parents are allowed to join this if they'd like. During consultation we will discuss how our tutoring will go forth and what content has been previously covered. This will also be a call for me to relay my experience and who I am for the student to feel more comfortable

Phase 2 - Learning: I hope to teach the student at a faster rate than their peers. Ensuring success in school as well as confidence in their abilities. This Phase will take up roughly 65% of the teaching time (however is adjusted based on how the student is doing/how the student has started). During this phase, I create a PLP (Personalised Learning Plan) on exactly what topics the student will learn in what order using my experienced judgement as well as their schools scheme of work. I am to finish content a couple months before said exams.

Phase 3 - Testing: This is a phase I created unlike many other tutors however it is one I stand by. My testing phase places the student in learning more advanced techniques - some that may not be in the specification but would still reward marks while saving time. Looking at progressive overload within the athletic community, I apply the same logic to our minds. We incrementally increase the difficulty further and further until the exams feel like a breeze and the real challenge are the questions that I set. This ensures not only A*s but getting close to 100% (for reference I got 287/300 in my mathematics A-Level while developing my own method)

Phase 4 - Progression: This is a variable phase and is for very specific cases. For example, The student is a Year 12 student studying A-Level Mathematics and we have completed the first half of the course (Y12 content). I will work with the student so that we complete the entirety of the Y13 course after I have ensured the Y12 side of the course has no longer posed a challenge. This applies to anything from Y8 -> Y9 or Y9 -> Y10. I would avoid doing Phase 4 for Y11 -> Y12 just until GCSEs and a well earnt break is had to prevent burnout as well as to ensure A-Level techniques aren't used in the GCSE (Marks will not be given in most cases).
