I have been teaching Geography at Secondary school for 28 years. I have gained a lot of experience teaching the subject which has only made a better teacher. I have taught Geography in Zimbabwe at both O and A Level from 1995 to 2008. From 2009 to 2023 I was teaching Geography at Secondary school in South Africa. I am now teaching Geography here in the United Kingdom having relocated early this year.
My lessons are mainly learner centred as I love to have my students actively involved in the learning process as opposed to them being passive participants. I believe through active participation and involvement meaningful learning will take place. I use a variety of techniques to achieve this which include asking a variety a questions during the course of the and randomly asking my students to respond. Group work activities and in some cases working in pairs is also implemented during my classes.
