Below are the typical outlines for lesson plans but these can be adapted. The format of my lessons for those with upcoming exams: 20 minutes covering content, 30 minutes teaching exam technique (typically will involve working on exam questions), 10 minutes giving feedback and explaining what would be helpful to do before the next session.
The format of my lessons for those struggling with content without upcoming exams: 20 minutes teaching the content, 30 minutes working on understanding and memorisation (method will depend on the students age and level), 10 minutes giving feedback and answering questions.
The format of my lessons for those with attention deficit or other learning disabilities: 15 mins of passive learning followed by 15 mins of active learning. 10 minutes of answering questions and giving feedback followed by another 15 mins of passive and then active.
The content of my lessons will depend on the exam boards and the level of the students, I will tailor the content to each student. Typically I like to keep lessons quite relaxed so that the students stay engaged, this is one of my strong suits as a younger tutor. If necessary I can create revision schedules for the students, and exercises outside of tutoring which will be beneficial. I have three years of tutoring experience and greatly enjoy it! I will soon be a graduate and so understand what school is like, and how some find it a challenging environment. I typically charge £20/hr but if this cannot be afforded I am open to discussing alternative prices.
