About me

My lessons are designed to be clear, structured, and supportive while also flexible enough to meet the needs of each student. I usually begin with a short review of previous work to check understanding and build confidence, before moving on to new material. This helps ensure students feel secure in what they have already learned while being ready to tackle the next step.

My lessons are designed to be clear, structured, and supportive while also flexible enough to meet the needs of each student. I usually begin with a short review of previous work to check understanding and build confidence, before moving on to new material. This helps ensure students feel secure in what they have already learned while being ready to tackle the next step.

I break down topics into manageable parts, explaining ideas in simple language and demonstrating methods step by step with worked examples. Once students have seen how to approach a problem, I guide them through practice questions and gradually encourage them to solve problems independently. This balance of explanation and practice allows students to develop both understanding and confidence.

My lessons are interactive, and I always encourage students to explain their thought processes. This not only helps me identify where misunderstandings may lie but also strengthens their ability to reason clearly, which is an essential skill in exams. I tailor my approach to suit different learning styles, whether that means using visuals, repetition, or exam-focused drills.

With experience working with GCSE students across a range of abilities, I understand the challenges of both Foundation and Higher tiers. My goal is always to make maths feel less intimidating, helping students to see patterns, gain confidence, and believe in their ability to succeed. Ultimately, my lessons aim to equip students with the skills and strategies they need to reach their target grades and beyond. I strive to create a positive, motivating environment where students feel supported and inspired to achieve their best.
