French violinist Angélique Martinet is the winner of the Vatelot-Rampal Competition 2018 and the Marie Cantagrill International Competition 2019 in her category. She performed as a soloist with the Young Symphonic Orchestra of Bordeaux under the baton of Roberto Gatto in , Angélique made her debut at the British Isles Music Festival and was selected to join the new Orchestra Academy S2, performing with both the National Orchestra of Lille and the orchestra Les Siècles throughout the 2023–2024 season. In 2024, she appeared at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris and performed in the opening concert of the Festival Ravel with Les Siècles.
Angélique is a recent graduate of the Royal College of Music London, with a 1st Class Bachelor of Music degree, where she was a Musicians’ Company Lambert Scholar. She has studied with Emily Sun, having previously worked with Alexander Gilman. She was awarded her Diploma of Musical Studies in France at the age of sixteen, under the guidance of François-Marie Drieux, Stéphane Rougier, Philippe Graffin, and Stéphane Tran Ngoc. She has also participated in prestigious international academies such as the Académie Internationale d’Été de Nice, the Mozarteum Internationale Sommerakademie, and the Wiener Meisterkurse.
A passionate and dedicated teacher, Angélique has been sharing her love of the violin for over four years. Her students have consistently thrived under her guidance, with a 100% success rate in ABRSM exams. She tailors her teaching to each individual, combining technical precision with musical sensitivity and creativity.
Versatile and collaborative, Angélique performed for two years as a member of the Céleste Quartet, appearing at the Joseph Horovitz Memorial Concert and the Sacconi Quartet Festival. She has played in numerous orchestral projects in both France and the UK, working under the baton of Arie Van Beek, Marc Minkowski, Renaud Capuçon, François-Xavier Roth, Adrian Partington, Joanna Carneiro, Martyn Brabbins, Pierre Bleuse, and Krzysztof Urbanski. She is also regularly involved in recording sessions for film music, including at Angel Studios and Abbey Road Studios.
