I’ve had a lifelong love of physics and maths. Following graduation with a PhD in physics I went into industry applying maths to commercial scenarios and have continued to use maths and sometimes ideas from physics throughout my career. As part of my role I enjoy building teams and developing individuals either through formal training or through more informal one on one mentoring type meetings. I also have a passion for tutoring in maths and physics in my spare time, as I find this very rewarding and enjoyable.

Throughout my career I have delivered math based formal training programmes to large groups and graduate training in financial maths to smaller groups. These training programmes have been delivered around the globe from Nigeria to Singapore and it was always fun and challenging to adapt my style so participants got the most out of the courses. I generally found working through examples, where the group can see the calculations and application of the ideas, complemented with me asking questions to check understanding was the most effective form of learning. I have also delivered A level physics revision sessions to small groups and individuals.

In summary my style is relaxed and informal, believing tutoring is most successful when students are relaxed, engaged and feel confident to share any development areas. As illustrated above I find targeting to needs and working through practical examples in an interactive manner is the best way of learning, building up the concepts as we go along. I also adapt my style to individuals according to their needs depending on their pace and style of learning.
