I have helped a number of students via mentoring, as well as specific coaching for subjects within the physics fields.
I have a great love of physics, how it explains the amazing universe in which we live, and how its application can improve our lives.
My particular speciality is nuclear physics, where I worked for more than 20 years, but I am familiar with general physics.
I like to encourage my students by asking questions that lead them to a better understanding, rather than by just presenting information. This leads to more information being remembered by the student, and also a greater sense of achievement.
I have also coached students at up to degree level in how to approach exams, and specific techniques for success. This includes analysing past papers for patterns of questions and strategies for making effective use of the time available during the exam itself.
