Maths isn’t one-size-fits-all. Different people understand concepts in different ways, and there’s almost always more than one way to approach a problem. That belief is at the core of how I teach. In my one-to-one lessons, I focus on finding the explanation and method that work best for you—whether that’s step-by-step breakdowns, visual intuition, or learning through practice. If something doesn’t click at first, we approach it from a different angle until it does.
Each lesson follows a clear but flexible structure. We start with the core concepts, making sure the foundations are solid before moving on to questions. From there, we gradually increase the difficulty of the problems so confidence builds naturally. When preparing for exams, we work through exam-style and past-paper questions together. Instead of just correcting answers, we identify exactly where things went wrong, revisit those specific gaps, and relearn them properly so the same mistakes don’t repeat. I also focus on exam technique—how to structure answers, manage time, and avoid common pitfalls.
I’ve shaped this teaching style through tutoring students in my neighbourhood, teaching at a government school, and working as a teacher’s assistant at my high school. These experiences taught me how to explain ideas clearly, stay patient, and adapt to different learners. With A* grades in A-level Maths and Further Maths, I combine strong subject knowledge with a supportive, motivating approach to help students build confidence, improve results, and feel genuinely comfortable with maths both inside and outside the classroom at every stage of learning.
