Hi! I’m Amy — a Taiwan-based Mandarin tutor and trilingual marketer (Mandarin, English, Japanese). I teach Mandarin in a way that feels practical, structured, and genuinely usable in real life.

What my lessons are like

My classes are goal-led and highly interactive. We’ll always start with a quick warm-up (tone + pronunciation check), then move into a clear topic for the day, such as introductions, ordering food, directions, travel situations, or workplace Mandarin. You won’t just “learn words” — you’ll use them in guided speaking from minute one.

My lesson format (simple and effective)

- 5–10 mins: pronunciation + tone coaching (with quick drills)

- 20 mins: vocabulary + key sentence patterns (clear, repeatable structures)

- 20 mins: role-play + conversation practice (real scenarios, not textbook-only)

- 10 mins: recap + personalised homework (short and doable)

Teaching style and materials

I’m detail-oriented with pronunciation, but my vibe is supportive and friendly. I’ll correct you in a way that builds confidence, not stress. I also create custom notes with:

- Traditional Chinese

- Pinyin

- English meaning + short English explanations
So you always know what you’re saying and why.

Who I work best with
Complete beginners, travellers coming to Taiwan, and motivated learners who want steady progress with clear structure. I also work well with learners who already have some Mandarin and want to level up in a more enjoyable and systematic way, whether that means speaking more confidently in daily life or improving Business Mandarin for work situations (meetings, emails, presentations, and professional small talk). If you want Mandarin that actually works outside the classroom, we’ll get along very well.
