Every student is different, so I tailor my lessons to their individual needs, current ability and goals.
During our initial call or session, we’ll discuss your goals and what you’d like to achieve. I’ll use a short, subject-specific quiz or activity to assess your current level, identify your strengths and areas for improvement, and help us agree on clear, achievable learning objectives. Parents are also welcome to contribute to this discussion.
My lessons are structured, interactive and engaging. A typical session includes:
- Warm-up (5 minutes): We’ll start with a short quiz, game, interactive activity or discussion to get you thinking and revisit relevant knowledge.
- Learning and understanding: We’ll work through teaching materials tailored to your ability and learning goals, building your knowledge and confidence step by step.
- Practice and application: Where appropriate, we’ll tackle exam-style questions together. I’ll guide you through the process, explain key concepts and demonstrate how to construct strong model answers.
- Review and next steps: We’ll recap what you’ve learned and, if you wish, I’ll set practice tasks or homework to help reinforce your progress before our next session.
My approach is adaptable. If your priority is preparing for an upcoming exam, we can focus on exam technique, timed practice and exam-style questions. If you’d like to develop a deeper understanding of a subject, we can spend more time exploring key concepts, working through examples and completing interactive activities.
Whatever your goals, my aim is to create a supportive learning environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, learning from mistakes and building the confidence to succeed.
