I currently mentor Year 11 students in Maths at my school for one hour each week (since September), helping them prepare for GCSE exams. I have also:
• Completed 6 weeks of primary school work experience
• Tutored younger family members and friends
• Served as a School Prefect
• Volunteered for 2 years in a charity shop
• Taken part in acting club (building confidence, team intergration & communication skills)
• Supported my grandfather when he was unwell
These experiences have developed my patience, communication skills, leadership and ability to work with children of different ages and abilities.
Subjects Offered
Students in primary – Maths & English (£10 per hour)
Year 7–9 – Maths, English & Science (£13 per hour)
GCSE – Maths(foundation) & Science (particularly strong in Biology) (£15 per hour)
All sessions are 1 hour and conducted online via zoom or google meet.
Lesson Structure
Each session follows a clear, structured plan:
1. 5-minute check-in and recap questions
2. 15–20 minutes of clear explanation and worked examples
3.5–10 minutes of guided practice with support
4.10 minutes independent practice
5.Marking, feedback and error correction
6. Challenge question if time allows
This “I do, we do, you do” approach builds understanding, confidence and exam technique.
Parents receive a short progress update after sessions outlining what was covered and areas to improve.
Aims
I aim to:
• Build confidence alongside academic ability
• Break difficult concepts into simple steps
• Encourage independent thinking
• Create a calm, supportive learning environment
As a current student, I understand the GCSE and KS3 curriculum closely and know what examiners look for.
If you are looking for an affordable, reliable and structured tutor to support your child’s progress, please feel free to message me for availability or any questions.
Limited spaces available to ensure quality support for each student.
Thank you ??
