Amun Mirza

I am an experienced Maths and Science tutor with a BSc (Hons) in Clinical Sciences and I am currently studying towards my MSc in Physician Associate Studies. I have experience tutoring students across KS1–KS4, including GCSE level and I really enjoy helping students build both their academic ability and confidence.

I understand that every student learns differently so my lessons are tailored to the individual rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. I initially identify areas of strength and any gaps in knowledge then plan lessons around what the student needs most.

During lessons, I use clear explanations, worked examples, practice questions, interactive activities and exam-style questions where appropriate. I encourage students to ask questions and create a comfortable environment where they don't feel embarrassed if they don't understand something the first time.

I also focus on developing independent learning and problem-solving skills rather than simply giving students the answers. For GCSE students, lessons can include exam technique, revision strategies and targeted practice based on areas they find most challenging.

Progress is regularly monitored and I provide feedback to parents so they understand how their child is progressing and what we are currently working towards.

Most importantly, my aim is for students to leave lessons feeling more confident, capable and positive about their learning.
