I am a medical student with a strong academic background, having achieved A*AAA in A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Economics and EPQ, alongside grades 8s and 9s across my GCSEs, including Maths and Science. After sixth form, I took a gap year and worked as a vaccinator, while continuing to tutor and support students academically. I have been tutoring even before my gap year, giving me experience working with students of different abilities, learning styles and confidence levels.
My lessons are highly personalised and tailored to each student’s individual needs, goals and learning style. I can teach whatever the student would like to focus on, whether that is a specific topic they are struggling with, revising the full specification, preparing for an upcoming exam, or building their confidence. I make sure all relevant specification points are covered thoroughly, while explaining content in a way that works best for each student. I use visual explanations, analogies, mnemonics, memory aids, and useful tips and tricks to make difficult concepts easier to understand and remember.
I also place a strong emphasis on exam technique. Through my tutoring experience, I have recognised patterns in exam questions, recurring keywords and phrases, and the specific ways students can structure answers to gain marks. I teach students how to identify exactly what a question is asking, use the language examiners are looking for, and maximise their marks. Ultimately, I want every student to leave my lessons feeling more confident, capable and prepared to succeed independently.
