Amna Riaz

I am Dr Amna Riaz, a physicist and space engineer with a genuine passion for helping students understand Physics and Maths, not just pass exams. I hold a PhD in space engineering, specialising in satellite communications, and an undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. My work has been recognised through the WE50 Top 50 Women in Engineering Awards 2026 and the TechWomen100 Awards.

I have over 10 years of tutoring experience, working with students across GCSE, IGCSE, and A-level Physics and Maths, covering the Edexcel, AQA, and Edexcel International exam boards. My students range from those who need to rebuild confidence in a subject they have struggled with, to those aiming for top grades and competitive university offers in STEM subjects.

My teaching approach centres on building genuine conceptual understanding before technique. I want students to know why a method works, not just how to apply it, because that is what makes knowledge stick and transfers to unfamiliar exam questions. Each lesson is built around the student's specific exam board and specification, using structured lesson materials, worked examples, and real past-paper practice. Homework is always reviewed together at the start of the next session, so mistakes become part of the learning process rather than something to hide from.

As a working researcher in a highly technical field, I bring real-world context to abstract concepts, helping students see why the Physics and Maths they are learning actually matters. I am patient, structured, and genuinely invested in each student's progress, and I tailor every lesson to how that individual student learns best.
