My lessons are interactive, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs. I often use the “I do, we do, you do” approach, where I first model the skill, then guide the student through worked examples, and finally support them in applying their learning independently. I like to include starters, worked examples, practice tasks, and model answers so that students can see clear steps and build confidence as they progress.
The content of my lessons can range from Maths topics such as fractions, multiplication, and algebra to English skills such as poetry analysis, similes, metaphors, and personification. I adapt the material depending on the learner’s level and needs, whether they require additional scaffolding or stretch tasks for challenge.
From my experience supporting students in schools and colleges, including those with SEND and emotional or sensory regulation needs, I know the importance of creating a positive, structured, and inclusive environment. I break down tasks into manageable steps, use interactive questioning, and provide plenty of encouragement.
Overall, my lessons are designed to be engaging, structured, and student-centred, helping learners develop both subject knowledge and confidence.
