My lessons are structured, engaging, and fully tailored to each student’s individual needs and learning style. I usually begin with a short recap or warm-up activity to reinforce prior knowledge and identify any gaps. I then introduce new concepts using clear, step-by-step explanations, supported by visuals, practical examples, and real-life contexts to make learning more relatable and easier to understand. Students are given guided practice first, where I support them through questions and prompts, before moving on to independent tasks that build confidence and encourage problem-solving. I regularly check for understanding and adapt the pace of the lesson to ensure the student feels comfortable and not overwhelmed. I have experience working with primary-aged students, including those with SEN, and I focus on creating a calm, supportive, and encouraging environment where students feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes. My aim is not only to improve maths skills but also to build confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning. I also provide regular feedback to both students and parents, track progress over time, and celebrate achievements to keep students motivated and proud of their progress. I make sure each lesson builds on the last so learning is consistent and structured. I also encourage students to develop independent thinking skills and resilience when facing challenging questions, helping them become confident learners both inside and outside the classroom. I also adapt resources and explanations to suit different abilities, ensuring every student can access the work and feel successful while steadily improving their maths skills.
