My lessons are designed to be engaging, supportive, and tailored to the individual needs of each student. As a qualified English teacher with experience teaching students aged 11–16, I understand that every learner develops at their own pace. Whether your goal is to improve confidence, strengthen key skills, or achieve higher grades in school assessments and GCSE exams, lessons are carefully planned around your specific needs.
Lessons are available online or in person across Kirklees. Each session begins with a clear learning objective so students understand what they are working towards. I use a combination of explanation, modelling, guided practice, and independent application to help students develop both knowledge and confidence. Students are encouraged to ask questions throughout, creating a positive and supportive environment where mistakes are seen as part of the learning process.
For English Language, lessons focus on reading comprehension, analytical writing, creative writing, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and exam techniques. For English Literature, students develop their understanding of texts, themes, characters, context, and essay-writing skills. Where appropriate, I use past examination questions, model answers, and targeted feedback to help students make measurable progress.
I believe that strong relationships are key to successful learning, so I take time to understand each student’s strengths, challenges, and interests. This allows me to adapt lesson content and teaching approaches to keep learning relevant and motivating.
Regular feedback is provided so students and parents can clearly see progress over time. My aim is not only to improve academic performance but also to help students become more confident, independent learners who feel prepared for success both inside and outside the classroom.
