I have previously tutored GCSE History and spent my gap year working as a Teaching Assistant in a Primary School. In my sessions, we will focus on not only memorising key dates and events but also on how to structure, plan and write an essay. Whether you or your child are aiming for a 5 or a 9, I tailor my sessions to the individual, identifying where you or your child most need support. My sessions will range each week depending on what you or your child want to focus on, but usually start with 10 knowledge questions about key dates and events. This knowledge is fundamental to you or your child's essay writing and having even a few key dates memorised could help to boost you or your child's overall grade. My sessions will mainly focus on essay writing, using past papers and questions created by myself. In earlier sessions, I will go through step-by-step how to structure and write answers depending on what grade you or your child are aiming for. In earlier sessions, we will plan and write answers together, but as sessions develop, I will encourage you or your child to have a go, but will always be present should they need help. At the end of the session, we will go through those answers together, identifying where and why an examiner would have given marks and what can be done to improve. I always aim to make my sessions safe, non-judgemental and fun where I can!
