Amber Pickering

I am a warm, patient and encouraging tutor who genuinely enjoys helping people grow in confidence and achieve their potential. I have experience teaching and supporting children, young people and adults of all ages, and I understand that every learner is different. For me, successful tutoring is about getting to know the individual, understanding how they learn best and creating lessons that are supportive, engaging and tailored specifically to them.

I hold a Master’s degree in Education, with a particular specialisation and interest in inclusion. I have extensive experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities in both mainstream and specialist educational settings. This has given me a strong understanding of how important it is to adapt teaching methods, resources and expectations to suit each learner rather than expecting everyone to learn in the same way.

My lessons are always personalised. I take into account each student’s strengths, areas they may find more challenging, interests, confidence levels and individual goals. I aim to create a relaxed environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and progressing at their own pace.

Whether I am supporting a child with their schoolwork, helping a young person prepare for the next stage of their education, or teaching an adult who wants to develop new skills, I bring patience, enthusiasm and encouragement to every lesson. My aim is not simply to help students improve academically, but to help them believe in themselves and feel proud of what they can achieve.
