About me

I have a keen passion for education, and enjoy working with children as I have found out through volunteering to help at sports clubs for children aged 8 to 11. I have a keen passion for education, and enjoy working with children as I have found out through volunteering to help at sports clubs for children aged 8 to 11. I am also a firm believer that a teacher can make or break a students learning career, which is why I intend to make every session engaging and productive, as well as be supportive and encouraging for every child. I would like to keep the sessions fun and informal, especially as I get to know each child more.

Of course every student is different and will have different styles of teaching which are most effective to them, and I intend to cater towards that to the best of my abilities. Going through practice questions and past paper questions are some of the methods I intend to use when going over a topic. Certain topics may need to be retaught or have a more active element to it (i.e coding in python) where I would go through each section that wasn't initially understood. I would also help with homework in a way where the child also understands the content being taught.

I am a determined person who knows how students might be feeling, especially leading up to exams. Having done them recently I can relate to the stress (whether from exams or learning in general) that a child might feel, and I want to do my best to help each student overcome that and do the best they can.

My qualifications include GCSE grade 9 in History, grade 8 in Maths, English Literature, grade 7 in French, Computer Science, and English language, and a grade 8/9 in Combined Science. Students who are doing GCSE courses may need to check the subject and exam board they are doing.
