My lesson begins daily with very clear aims and objectives for each class. I like to let my students know what the outcome of each class should be. I start with the end results in mind. Most times, I then indulge students with a quick recap of the previous lesson.
I definitely try to create a fun and engaging atmosphere, with the focus on my students speaking to me in standard English. Usually I’ll engage my students orally in assessment of themselves, general knowledge and results of research assigned.
My lessons are usually focused on everyday life. Sometimes, I engage my students with cultural information. It is always fun to learn about the way of life of different countries around the world. My country offers exciting information through which students can use to better their knowledge of English. Also, my English classes will help my students to navigate the global village. I definitely use technology in the lessons and students' feedback is always welcomed.
In private lessons, errors are corrected immediately so as to strengthen my students’ ability in the topic. There will definitely be activities which test or measure students’ performance throughout the tenure, but students will be notified well ahead of time of the date of assessments; and what to prepare for. Overall, my students will learn to love and appreciate English Language as a tool to better communication eventually enhancing skills needed to be successful in examinations and in their career paths.
