Hi! My name is Alice and I am an experienced tutor of children from ages 4-11, specifically looking at 11+ materials. My aim is to provide tailored support and teaching to not only increase my pupils' ability but most importantly, the confidence in their work. By working one-on-one with my students, I am able to provide them with as much or as little time as they need to completely grasp certain topics which may be tricky for them. Another area I aim address is exam technique and time management, lowering panic levels by breaking down seemingly undoable assessments into much more doable chunks. From my previous experience, I have found the most effective way to hold my lessons is on Zoom. On there, I am able to share practice questions and papers to my pupils and we are also able to use the whiteboard function to work questions together. Compared to school, my lessons aim to be more informal where my pupils feel comfortable coming to me with any topics or homework they may be struggling on. I am also able to provide mock test sessions for pupils before any big assessments. This is where they complete a practice paper under timed conditions during our session where I mark it and we can go through it together. This gives students the chance to practice the application of all the skills learnt and apply them in one go. I am also contactable in between lessons to mark, grade and provide feedback on any extra work they have completed (I will provide parents with a personal email/phone number).
