Ali Zain Khuwaja

Hi, I’m Ali Zain Khuwaja, a qualified architect and urban planner with a real passion for art, design, and creativity. Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching at some of the leading art and architecture schools, working closely with students to help them grow their confidence, sharpen their skills, and find their own creative voice.

My teaching journey started with foundation-year students, guiding them from the very basics—like lines, planes, and perspective drawing—all the way to more advanced techniques such as sections, elevations, and design concepts. I also have hands-on experience teaching model-making, showing students how to translate their ideas into scaled, physical forms that bring their imagination to life. One of my proudest contributions was helping develop graphic illustration materials that became a standard resource for technical drawing courses.

In addition to traditional art and design skills, I’m fluent in digital tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Canva. This means I can support students in developing both manual craft and digital design abilities—skills that are increasingly important in today’s creative industries.

What I enjoy most is working with students at different stages of their learning. I understand that some are just starting out and need encouragement to experiment, while others may be preparing portfolios and need constructive feedback to polish their work. My approach is always student-centered and supportive: I believe every learner has the potential to create meaningful work, and my role is to guide them, challenge them when needed, and celebrate their progress.

For me, art and design are more than just subjects—they are powerful ways of expressing ideas, telling stories, and shaping the world around us. Whether it’s through drawing, model-making, or digital design, I aim to give students the tools and confidence they need to explore their creativity and succeed in their studies.
